In-Class Assignment #3:

“The Invisible Progress Sprint” (45-60 minutes)

After watching R&R Episode 3, students will experience what it feels like to do real entrepreneurial work that doesn’t immediately look impressive—and then reframe it as valuable.

Setup (5 min):

Give students a fast challenge: “Create a business idea that improves student life at this school.”

Work Phase (20 min):

Tell them they cannot make a logo, slides or anything polished. This forces them into the unseen work.

Teams must complete 3 “root tasks” (no pitching yet):

  • Interview at least 2 classmates (quick questions)

  • Sketch a rough product/service idea

  • Define: Who is this for? Why does it matter

Reveal + Mini Pitch (10–15 min):

Now they get 5 minutes to turn their messy work into a 1-minute pitch

Debrief (10–15 min):

Ask:

  • What did your work look like halfway through? (Probably messy, unclear)

  • What actually made your idea stronger?

  • Which part was the “roots” no one sees?

Tie to the video:

“Which part of your work today would people overlook—but mattered most?”
